The First Adventure of 2010

The Galloping Grandma is off again! This time I am flying out to Tenerife where I join the Volunteer Crew of the Stavros S Niarchos as Assistant Cook. We then sail from Tenerife to Madeira, no doubt calling in several places en-route. We anticipate getting to Madeira on 28th January and I am then being joined by my friend Margaret to spend the next 6 days walking on, the extremely hilly, or should I say mountainous, Madeira Island.

Monday early.

I missread my watch this morning. Got up, had my shower, dressed, got the galley washing from the laundry and took it up to the mess, only to realise it was still only 4.20am! Have had some tea and toast and am now waiting 4 Jan the cook to arrive to start breakfast.

    Sounds like a busy time aboard. Hope the trip to Madeira goes well and you get the chance of a dip in the sea.......... Cold but refreshing I should imagine. Rather you than me!
